These are intended to be simple applications that do not take time to launch. But if you no longer have use for the once-exciting feature, you can disable it to both simplify your user experience and potentially save a small amount of system resources. Dashboard is a discontinued application for Apple Inc.'s macOS operating systems, used as a secondary desktop for hosting mini-applications known as widgets.
